Is Mera Peak the highest trekking peaks of Nepal Himalayas?


Yes, it is Mera peak at 6,654 m /21,825 feet stands as the highest trekking peaks of Nepal Himalayas. As listed in NMA (Nepal Mountaineering Association), the 2nd tallest is Chulu East 6, 584 m /21,596 feet. Located in Manang Valley around Mid-West Nepal, beyond Annapurna Himalayas. 

How fit and climbing experience required for Mera Peak Climb?



For Mera Peak climb, although a non-technical peak, all interested people can enjoy the adventure. As long one is physically fit and in good health, a basic training and experience will be an advantage. However, beginners can take part for the climb of Mera Peak, to stay physically fit. Exercise is needed after the booking for the trip, like swimming, running, jogging every day for few hours.

As well any types of outdoor sports to keep you fit to participate on Mera Peak Climb. The rest is having the right good equipment for the climb, which you can buy or rent in Kathmandu, if it’s too much to carry from home country. 
The grade is F to PD means Facial Easy to Per Difficult due to altitude wise and steep strenuous climbing for some hours. Walking on deep snow and avoiding the crevices and slippery icy sections. Our expert guide will be a big support for climbers with less experience on high altitude or climbing.

Do all lodges provides electricity and internet or Wi-Fi?


All lodges do have facilities of electricity either run by local hydro plant or with solar power. At present nearly all overnight places in lodges do have internet and Wi-Fi services, in some places can be quite slow and disturbing depending upon the areas and weather wise. Where all clients’ needs to pay extra for charging each electronic items. As for internet services it’s free in some places, and other lodge might charge extra, where you can learn from your guide about the cost.

The only time where climbers will have to face is at High Camp before the climb on camping. There will be no facilities of electricity or internet services, unless you have carries your own solar panel and data pack. But the services can be slow and poor, being in the corned hidden by tall mountains and hills.  

How are the foods and accommodation on treks?


The foods on the treks will be as per the menu provided by the lunch for group above 4 to 8 pax. All meals will be from the set menu, to save fuel and time, as you will be in the remote corners of the Himalayas. Some lodge serves only limited food menu from Nepali Dal Bhat (boiled rice, lentil soups with mild seasonal vegetable curry). Various types of noodles from soup to fried noodles with vegetable, eggs or meats. As well the famous Mo-Mo, a dumpling stuffed with vegetable or minced meats, served with sauce. Soups of various types as well few continental, Chinese and Indian or Tibetan dishes with local home-made breads. Due to the nature of mountainous and remote location, the company will carry some supplement food to keep the members happy and healthy.

The only time one can have lavish foods is in Lukla after the trek and climb Mera Peak. The lodge restaurants in Lukla serves comprehensive food menu as well some bakeries items to enjoy the last dinner around Khumbu region.

The accommodation are very simple and basic but neat and clean with cosy rooms, having common bath and toilet outside the lodge. Due to high altitude and harsh cold weather, where plumbing systems can freeze.  

What happens if one get sick on route trekking?

Normally our guide takes care of each clients and taking much precaution regarding the altitude and foods, drinks on treks. However, some might get mild sickness from high altitude or from spicy foods. In case of severe and bad situation the patient is brought down to safe altitude. For very sick people immediate evacuation by any means of fast transportation. The only quickest ways is taking a Helicopter Services to bring the victim back to Kathmandu for treatment in the best hospitals. For this types of incidence if occurs, where all trekkers are informed regarding the Travel and Medical Insurance to cover all the extra expenses incurred on this situation.
