What to expect on walk to Annapurna Base Camp?


Various exciting things to experience, besides the scenic mountain and landscapes views. The walk leads to lovely traditional villages of Ghandruk and Chomrong adorned with Buddhist culture. Where every house is with prayer flags representing five elements with different colors, blue / sky, white / water or cloud, red for thunder or fire, green for vegetation and yellow or orange for soil, earth. The flags printed with prayers in Tibetan letter and it’s called Lung-Ta means Wind-Horse. The walk takes you to enchanting forest of rhododendron, magnolia, pine and fir trees with bamboo grooves. In spring one can enjoy when wildflowers are in seasonal bloom.  

Do we have facilities to charge our electronic items?

Yes, nearly all lodges have the facilities of hydroelectricity, some few small villages runs the electricity for guest by solar-power. All trekkers needs to pay extra for charging each electronic gadgets as per hour basis at minimum reasonable cost.

Is there Wi-Fi and Internet available in this treks?


Nearly all overnight stop lodge and guest-house have the facilities of internet and Wi-Fi. But sometime on the mountain the connection is quite slow and disturbing due to terrain and weather wise.

How are the foods quality in this treks?


The foods on every meals like breakfast, lunch and dinner are amazingly of best quality, prepared with care and hygienic. All lodge restaurants serves as per the food menu wise on La Carte basis or Set meals of Nepali Dal Bhat (boiled / steamed rice with lentil soup and mild vegetable curry served with pickles).

The foods on the menu includes from Continental, Chinese, Indian to Nepali, some restaurants on treks also provides bakery items as well.

Most popular is Nepali Dal / Bhat, noodle soup or fried noodle with veg and eggs or meats, Mo-Mo dumpling stuffed with meats or vegetable is also popular dishes found on the treks.  

Do we nee to prepare for altitude sickness to go ABC Trekking ?

Yes, preparation for altitude sickness is essential on the ABC (Annapurna Base Camp) trekking adventure. Altitude sickness, also known as acute mountain sickness (AMS), can occur when ascending to high altitudes too quickly, and it can affect anyone, regardless of their fitness level or previous trekking experience.

To minimize the risk of altitude sickness, pre-trek preparation should include physical fitness training, aerobic exercises, and cardiovascular workouts to enhance overall stamina and lung capacity. Additionally, mental preparedness and a positive attitude are crucial.

Hydration is vital during the trek, as proper water intake helps acclimatize to higher altitudes. Moreover, allowing sufficient time for acclimatization is crucial. It is advisable to plan rest days at intermediate altitudes to enable the body to adjust gradually.

Carrying and using necessary trekking gear, such as proper clothing, sturdy footwear, and a reliable trekking pole, is essential for a comfortable and safe journey.

Ultimately, consulting a healthcare professional before the trek and being aware of the symptoms of altitude sickness can make the ABC trekking experience safer and more enjoyable.
