You can take this jeep ride to Ulleri or Banthanti either directly from Pokhara or partly from Nayapool. Actually, this jeep drive/ride takes you all the way up to Ghorepani during winter and late autumn but going directly to Poonhill is not good because of the high altitude. 3: How can we get jeep for Poonhill-Ghorepani?

You can simply ask your local travel partner to book it for you or you can directly make a booking through a local agent if you are planning your trek in Annapurna region independently. The vehicle company or the transport companies will book it for you. If you are undertaking your or Annapurna Base Camp or Mardi Himal Trek through a trekking company located in Nepal, you can ask them to plan for you and book it. Actually, there are two types services while taking about Ghorepani Poonhill Jeep Ride. First one is Private Jeep Ride for Poonhill –Ghorepani and the other is Sharing the jeep with other people like 7-8 people.  You can get this jeep nearby Bindhyabasini temple while you are leaving Pokhara city for Hemja

If you are an individual/solo or two-three people and want a private jeep, it costs USD 90 and the sharing costs per individual is USD 20. A jeep can be shared by 6-7 people. 

We recommend you go with private Jeep ride for  Poonhill-Ghorepani because you can enjoy the trip to Ulleri/Banthati or Ghandruk the way you like. You can stop on the way and take photos of the landscapes and mountain peaks as well.

12. Can we do Kaligandaki Gorge or Tatopani Trip with Ghorepani- Poonhill Jeep ride?  

Yes, you can do Tatopani or Kaligandaki Gorge Jeep Ride combined with Ghorepani Poonhill Jeep Ride. Since The jeep doesn’t directly connect Poonhill and Ghorepani from Pokhara, only up to Ulleri or Banthanti, you will first go to Tatopani or Kali Gandaki Gorge and drive back to Poonhill and then walk down to Ulleri or Banthanti and then drive back to Pokhara with jeep.

If you want to combine Kaligandaki Gorge or Tatopani trip with Poonhill Jeep Ride, then, the itinerary will be like this:

Day 01:  Arrival in Pokhara

Day 02:  Drive to Tatopani via Kaligandaki Gorge

Day 03:  Drive back to Poonhill

Day 04:  Take rest at Poonhill

Can we go to Poon Hill by car?

Going Poon Hill by car is not possible so far ( 07/17/2024) as the condition of road is not good. Though the road track connects Poon Hill or ghorepani from Pokhara or from Nayapool, Birethanti, only four-wheel jeep goes up to Banthanti except in the months of July and August. In rest of the months of the year, the four-wheel jeep takes you to Banthanti via Ulleri for Ghorepani- Poon Hill Trek. 

Even, the car drive is not possible to go Banthanti/Ulleri from Nayapool or Birethanti. But, it is possible to drive car from Pokhara to Nayapool and Birethanti. You can park your there at Nayapool or Birethanti and walk up to Ulleri, Banthanti and Ghorepani and finally Poonhill. 

In nest few years, four-wheel jeep drive to Poon Hill will be possible from Pokhara. This way, trekkers can directly go to Ghorepani and Poonhill by jeep except in the months of July and August as these months are peak rainy season in Nepal. 

If you are thinking of going Poon Hill by car , it is not possible. Only four-wheel jeep goes up to Ulleri or Banthanti from Pokhara via Nayapool and Birethanti . The Poonhiil Ghorepani Jeep ride from Pokhara up to Ulleri and Banthanti takes 2.30 hrs and the total distance is 15 kilometers. 

However, while doing Annapurna Circuit Trek and ending it in Jomsom and Muktinath or Tatopani, you can directly drive either car or jeep conveniently to Poon Hill/Ghorepani. 

How much is the jeep from Nayapul to Ulleri?

The jeep from Nayapool to Ulleri/Banthanti costs Rs. 500-1000 depending on weather condition, number of people and the time of year in sharing.7 people can share the same jeep for Ulleri from Nayapool. Normally, the reserve jeep costs Rs.5000-600 for Ulleri from Nayapool and 7 people can share the total cost. This way will be cheaper. But, sometimes, there may not be sufficient number of people like 7 and if the number of people is less than 7, then, the jeep for Ulleri from Nayapool charges around 800-1000 per person. 

If you want to reserve the jeep privately or want a private jeep for you and your group only, it costs Rs 5000-600 from Nayapool to Ulleri. 

Mostly, people go with sharing jeep ride to Ulleri from Nayapool which is cheaper and it will be very exciting to drive along the country road with a group of people. 

How much is the jeep ride from Nayapul to Ghandruk?

The jeep ride from Nayapool to Ghandruk costs Rs 600 per person in sharing. But, if you want to reserve the jeep privately, it costs Rs. 5000. The jeep can be sahred by 7 people and the total cost is divisible. If you are solo and want to join with other people in the jeep ride from Nayapool to Ghandruk, you can do it and you require paying Rs. 600 if there are 7 people in the jeep. But, if the number is less than 7, you may have to pay little higher like Rs. 700-800. It depends on you what type of service you want either sharing or private. 

Actually, jeep ride from Ghorepani is not possible, it is possible only up to Ulleri or Banthanti for Poon Hill Trek. Even the jeep ride from Nayapool to Ulleri/Banthanti is not possible in the peak of summer/rainy like in the months of July and August. Make sure that the jeep takes you to Ulleri or Banthanti for Ghorepani-Poonhill Trek and book your seat. Otherwise, you have to walk from Birethanti to Ulleri and then to Ghorepani and finally Poonhill.

Many of the trekkers don’t know that they can use jeep to go to Ulleri and Ghandruk directly from Pokhara saving one day time and budget but there is no authentic information for the trekkers.
