We will be trekking in a restricted area. So, a special permit is necessary. After the permit procedures are complete, we fly from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj, enjoying the scenic views throughout the flight. Nepalgunj is one of the major cities of Nepal. The city located near the Nepal-India border plays a vital role in Nepal's economy. Later in the evening, we can stroll around the busy markets of Nepalgunj. Overnight in Nepalgunj.
After breakfast in Nepalgunj, we fly to Juphal. The flight to Juphal takes about 30 minutes, and then we start our trek to Dunai. During the first part of the trek, we descend through local villages and terraced fields to the Bheri River. We continue the trek by the riverside and walk for a few hours to finally arrive in the village of Dunai. Dunai is also the headquarters and one of the essential places in the Dolpa district. Overnight in Dubai.
Leaving Dunai early in the morning, we trek along the banks of the Thuli Bheri River. As we ascend towards Tarakot, you will start to appreciate the majestic beauty of this region. We also trek across deep gorges, suspension bridges, and isolated villages as we climb over the hill to reach Tarakot. Tarakot is a beautiful and historically crucial ancient village. We walk across the beautiful scenes of cultivable terraced lands of Tarakot. Overnight in Tarakot.
After breakfast at Tarakot, we start our trek walking along the bank of the Bheri River. The trail leads us to the open valley. We then continue to the east along the Barbung Khola. Then, we follow the Tarap Khola and head north to Khanigaon. Khanigaon offers a beautiful view of Sandul Gompa across the valley. On the way to Laina Odar, the sight of Putha Hiunchuli (7246m) and Churen Himal Range will refresh you. We then climb the steep trail to reach Laina Odar. Overnight in Laina Odar.
After breakfast at Laina Odar, we trek through the deep gorge of the Tarap River. We then start ascending the steep rocky slopes. This part of the trek is tiring and exhausting. However, the beautiful view of the river gorge and mountains will refresh you. The trail becomes relatively open and comfortable as we move further. We cross a small stream, and a trek for a couple of hours takes us to Toltol. Toltol is a winter settlement for the people of Upper Dolpo. Overnight in Toltol.
We prepare for today’s trek after breakfast at Toltol. The landscape changes as we approach a small settlement nestled between the enormous mountains. Crossing a narrow gorge, we trek through a forest of wild rose and juniper bushes to reach the village of Dho Tarap. There is a Buddhist Monastery in Tarap.
Along with the natural beauty of the region, you can enjoy the traditions and attire of the local women. Snow-capped mountains and Tibetan tradition are the highlights of today’s trek. Overnight in Dho Tarap.
We take a break from trekking to prepare for higher altitudes and harsh climatic conditions. You can explore the culture of Dho Tarap. You can visit beautiful monasteries like the Ringo Bumpa monastery. We spend the rest of the day visiting the monasteries near the area and take an opportunity to learn and understand the local culture, tradition, and lifestyle. You can try the unique lifestyle and traditional clothes of people. Overnight in Dho Tarap.
We start our trek to a higher altitude today. We trek through various villages and small rhododendron forests. On our way today, we pass the “Crystal Mountain School,” which is funded by a French NGO and is educating children of the region. Trekking beneath high snow-capped mountains and beautiful forests, we reach Numa La Base Camp (4350m). There is an ancient monastery for us to explore. Overnight stay at Numa La Base Camp.
Today is probably the toughest day of this trek. We trek to the highest point of our whole trek Numa La Pass (5310m). We make an early start as the weather may become worse in the afternoon. It’s a long and strenuous climb, but from the top, we can get incredible panoramic views as far as Dhaulagiri (9167m), Annapurna (8091m), Manaslu (8156m), and Kanjirowa (6883m). We rest for a while, enjoy the beautiful scenes, take photographs, and continue with the trek. We then trek down to Danighar. Overnight in Danighar.
We again start our trek early in the morning. We cross another pass today. We trek from Danighar to Temche via Baga La Pass. Baga La Pass is another famous and beautiful pass in this region. The trek gets challenging as we gain altitude. A little extra effort from your side leads to a beautiful view of the world of mountains. From the top, we can get incredible panoramic views as far as Dhaulagiri(9167m), Annapurna(8091m), Norbung Kang (6085m) Manaslu(8156m) and Kanjirowa (6883m) along with Phoksundo lake. We then trek down to Temche. Overnight at Temche.
After breakfast at Temche, we descend to Yak Kharka from Temche first and then ascend to the village of Ringmo. On the way to Ringmo, we trek through oak, pine, juniper and rhododendron forests. You will also be accompanied by the fantastic view of towering cliffs and a large waterfall. Ringmo is a famous settlement in the Dolpo region. A short walk from Ringmo leads us to the beautiful Phoksundo Lake. Overnight in Phoksundo.
We take a break from trekking to explore Phoksundo Lake and its surroundings. This beautiful lake is also the deepest in Nepal. We walk on the banks of the lake, enjoying the scenic view of villages and snow-capped mountains. We trek nearby hills and go to visit Tshowa (Bon Monastery). This monastery is as old as 1000 years. We get a beautiful view of many beautiful glaciers above the lake area. Overnight in Phoksundo.
After enjoying breakfast with the beautiful sunrise in Phoksundo, we start our trek for the day. We start the trek by walking along the riverside and then take a steep ascent to the top of a hill. From the top of the hill, you can enjoy the scenes of the Phoksundo Lake beneath the snow-capped mountains. After resting and enjoying the view, we start the descent. We trek through forests of pines, rhododendrons, and birches to reach Rechi. After six hours of uphill and downhill trekking, we finally arrive in Chhekpa and Overnight in Chhekpa.
Today is the last day of our trek. After breakfast, we head to Juphal from Chhekpa. We trek through villages like Shyanta and Kageni. From Shyanta, we trek through a pine and rhododendron forest that leads us to the checkpoint of Shey Phoksundo National Park. We exit Shey Phoksundo National Park. We then cross the suspension bridge over Dhim Khola and make our way to Juphal. We finally reach Juphal trekking along the narrow path and beautiful terraced fields. Overnight in Juphal.
After breakfast, we fly to Juphal on a domestic plane. We can enjoy scenes of the hilly and Himalayan regions of Nepal during the flight. After 25 minutes, we land in Nepalgunj. We have lunch in Nepalgunj and fly back to Kathmandu in the afternoon. Our staff will transfer you to the hotel in Kathmandu. You can stroll the streets of Kathmandu in the evening Farewell Dinner with typical Nepalese Cultural programs. Overnight in Kathmandu.
We keep an extra day in case of flight delay due to bad weather.
After breakfast in the hotel, our staff will drive you to the airport. We will make sure that you reach the airport on time. We then part our ways.
Arrival
You will arrive either by air or land to Nepal. If you arrive in Nepal by air, you have to use only Tribhuvan International Airport. Instead, if you use the road, you can enter or arrive in Nepal by land, you can different borders of Neighboring countries (India and China) like Jogbani, Raksaul, Sunauli, Birjung, Kakarvitta, Jh Tatopani, Rasuawagadi etc. You can use whichever entrances you like to suit your comfort and convenience.
Tourist Visa Nepal
A tourist Visa is on arrival visa in Nepal. It means tourists who are visiting Nepal can get the visas instantly on arrival at International Airports by producing all required documents. TIA (Tribhuvan International Airport) under the Department of Immigration has been facilitating tourists flying to Nepal by providing visas on Arrival. The 'On Arrival' visa procedure is very quick and simple. Within 5-10 minutes, you will get a visa on your passport. However, you can expect some queues during peak Tourist season If you wish to skip those queues, you can also consider getting a Visa from Nepalese Diplomatic Missions stationed abroad before your arrival. If you have possible, we recommend you obtain a visa before you enter Nepal from the diplomatic missions located nearby you so that you don’t need to bear any hassles during the process of obtaining a tourist visa on arrival. Transfer to Hotel
The majority of people/trekkers enter Nepal by air and that is via Tribhuvan International Airport. We receive you at the arrival of any entry point of Nepal or mainly at Tribhuvan International Airport without any delay according to your arrival time. It may take some time like 30 minutes to collect your luggage and for security checking at the airport. After that, you make your way to the exit of the airport and the Haven Holidays Pvt. Ltd. Representative will be waiting there holding the Board Witten “Haven Holidays Pvt. Ltd” As you see the board, you have to go with him or her and we will make a very comfortable transfer to the hotel you are staying overnight. The transfer from Tribhuvan International Airport and Thamel, the hotel where you are staying will take just 30 minutes drive.
Get checked in the hotel take a rest and get refreshed. We will give you the time for orientation after you get checked into the hotel.
Orientation
As you are given the time when you get checked in the hotel, you will be followed by our staff for the orientation. It may be on the same day or later the next day early in the morning at breakfast.
We will briefly let you know the trip you are undertaking from the next day or the same day onwards. You will be stated about the highlights of the trip, preparations, equipment, food and accommodation, guide, porter, etc
If you have any queries, you can put them in this orientation meeting before you depart for your trip.
Last Minute Booking
Last-minute booking is always open for you but the same package tends to be a little more costly than the regular departure dates trip packages. You can book the trip you like on our website even a day before the trip begins.

Currency Exchange
You can exchange your currency even in the Tribhuvan International Airport at your arrival or you can exchange it after you check in at the hotel or other several places in Kathmandu, trekking beginning points as well. If you are in a rush and cannot do this, you can pay USD, AUD or CAD to the people whom you need to pay for your accommodation, food, trip costs, tipping etc.

Luggage and Storage
we provide you with a very reliable duffel bag to put your stuff to be carried on the trip. It will be very safe to be carried by a porter. Unnecessary stuff, you can store it at the hotel in Kathmandu or Pokhara. They will keep your luggage/stuff very safe till your return back. Ask your trip leader or hotel receptionist to manage it for you before you depart for the trip.
Meals
Meals will be provided according to the itinerary and cost includes and cost excludes. If you are given the itinerary or cost like including BB only, you will be provided breakfast only and if you have booked the trip package including a full-board meal, you will get all the meals including breakfast, dinner and lunch. Apart from main meals, if you have extra tea, coffee, cold drinks and other alcoholic drinks, you have to pay them personally.
During the trip, you will be given enough time to have a meal. You can enjoy the meal you like from the menu. Vegan, Vegetarian?? If you are vegetarian, you will still find the choice in the menu and our guide will take good care of you through the trip.
You are supposed to have the meal where you stay overnight in the mountain during the trekking trip. You will enjoy freshly cooked meals in the mountain during the trip days with local ingredient
Trek Start
Trek starts from Juphal, it likely involves exploring the remote and beautiful regions of Dolpa in western Nepal. Juphal is a small airstrip town in the Dolpa District and serves as a gateway for trekkers heading into the Shey Phoksundo National Park. It offers unique and culturally rich experiences. Electricity
You will get a good and undisturbed facility of electricity during the trip to Nepal., you can get the facility of electricity to charge your phones and backups. However, in some cases, you may have to face the problem of load-shedding and technical problems. The guesthouses may charge you some amount to charge your devices in remote areas trekking. There won’t be an electricity heating system in the mountain while doing trekking.
Drinking Water
Drinking water must be pure, safe and contamination-free. You can get bottled or purified drinking water during the trip even in the mountain which is very safe for you to drink. The majority of the people who make trekking or adventure trips in the mountains go with boiled water which is prepared by the local lodges/guesthouses on the trail which is the best way to keep you safe from contaminated water. However, some people carry water purifying ingredients and they apply it to the drinking water and they drink it. But, don’t try to drink the water from the Local River, stream and taps. The bottled water you can buy along the trek in the guesthouse.
Communication
You can enjoy excellent facilities of communication in Kathmandu. However, in the case of the trekking trip in the mountains, you may not be able to have such kind of facility as in the cities. But, most of the local teahouses/lodges/guesthouses/ hotels on the trail will offer you the facility of Wi-fi. Sometimes, you get it for free and sometimes, you may have to pay for the installation of Wi-fi during the trip in the mountains.
The best way to access good communication over your smartphone is to get a local Nepali SIM Card like NT and NCELL. You get these local Nepali SIM Cards easily in Kathmandu and even in International Airport, Tribhuvan International Airport. For this, you have to present a copy of your passport and a passport-sized- photograph. You can buy a data pack via this local SIM Card and you make a very good communication. You can make a call, and access the internet over it.
Trek Ends
The trek ends in Juphal, which means you've completed one of the trekking routes in the Dolpa region of western Nepal. Juphal serves as both the starting and ending point for treks in this area due to its small airstrip, making it accessible for flights to and from Nepalgunj. After exploring the rugged and remote terrain of Dolpa, with its stunning landscapes, traditional villages, and cultural treasures, trekkers typically return to Juphal to conclude their journey. Juphal itself is a small town with basic amenities such as guesthouses, teahouses, and shops, providing a comfortable place to rest and relax after your trek.

Trek Extra Personal Expenses
How prodigal you are? Your trek extra personal expenses depend on it. If you love doing extra expenses on the trip, you will go to topics like alcoholic drinks, extra tea or coffee apart from the meal, tipping, some minor donations, extra snacks on the trail, some urgent personal stuff like clothing or any other equipment you immediately require on the trip in case it gets damaged or stop functioning. And, at the end of the trek, you have to give some tips to your trekking crew. For this, you have to allocate some dollars or Nepali currency.
Typical Day
The typical trip day begins with a good breakfast. You will have breakfast at around 7-8 am and begin the day after it. Then, you will have to work/walk for 3-4 hours after breakfast and you will stop for lunch. The lunchtime will be around an hour. You will order your lunch item and the restaurant/hotel/teahouse will cook for you. Sometimes, you may have to wait for some time if the restaurant or hotel is crowded. You can find the item you want in the menu prepared by the local lodge/restaurant/hotel. If you are vegetarian, no worries, you can still find the ways.
After lunch, you will resume your work/trek/trip again and end it in the after like around 3-4 pm. After that, you will check in the hotel/guesthouse/teahouse and get refreshed. Take rest, change clothing and go for dinner at around 6-7 pm. Your leader will help you to order the meals you like. At the dinner, your leader will share the important information for the next day’s trip and you can raise the question regarding it. The leader will orient you on what to wear, how to walk, what to carry and where to eat. Follow the instructions from the guide/leader very well.
