Kathmandu is the capital of Nepal living with the population of around 3 million. Kathmandu valley is surrounded by magnificently beautiful hills around it. It is has always been the center of the art, culture, music, dance, history, business and economy since it is the most populated area in the whole Nepal. Many people from different places stay sharing their rituals and happiness maintaining the peace and harmony. Nepal is a secular nation so, people of different religion stay with the motive of peace and prosperity of the people and the coming generation. Talking about the religion, most of the people are Hindu and Buddhist throughout the Nepal. Pilgrimage Tour or Hindu Pilgrimage Tour is very popular day tour and multi day tours in Kathmandu. But, Kathmandu Valley consists of three different districts or cities including Kathmandu, Bhaktapur and Lalitpur. 

The Kathmandu City generally has a climate with warm days followed by cool nights and mornings. Though the climate is suitable for everyone to live the air pollution has been challenging since a long time. Keeping aside the positive and negative aspects the valley has very religious side. Doesn’t matter if an individual roam freely without knowing the place, that individual will end up in one of the temples or stupa. The Katmandu City is also recognized as the city of the temples. The city of the Newar community is described as “an enormous treasure house of art and sculptures”. Most of the art one can find inside the Kathmandu valley are the blend of Hinduism and Buddhism Maintained the artist from various communities of the Nepal. Interesting thing about art is that it can also be used to reflect the love from one to another. Similarly, one of those art one the Rani Pokhari which is situated in the heart of the valley. It is the pond built by King Pratap Malla in 1670 AD for his beloved queen after she lost her son and couldn’t recover from it. The pond is one of Kathmandu’s most famous landmark and is known for its religious an aesthetic significance. Music is a part of tradition in Nepal, all kinds of music played in Nepal can be found inside the Kathmandu. Newar music was originally originated from Kathmandu. A number of hippies visited Kathmandu during the 1970s and introduced rock and jazz music to the city.

Kathmandu is noted internationally for its jazz festival, popularly known as Jazzmandu. The festival attracts the tourists from countries worldwide. Cultural community has maintained the traditional music, arts and festivals for centuries in the form of worshipping the gods and deities in the Kathmandu and overall Nepal. Most of the places tourists love to visit inside the valley are religious and some of them are listed in the UNESCO, some of them are Kathmandu Durbar Square, Pashupatinath Temple, Swayambhunath Stupa and Bouddhanath Stupa. Transportation inside Kathmandu is mostly on road. Bus companies including micro bus companies operate several routes. One can find the cab easily anywhere inside the valley. Nowadays sharing rides in the motorbike has been popular since most of the people inside the valley owns one. People in the valley mostly enjoy having ‘DalBhaat’ in the lunch and dinner but any kind of foods except sea food can easily be found in the tourist places such as Thamel and around Bouddhanath stupa and so on. Consumption of the beef is strictly prohibited throughout the country because the cow is the national animal of the Nepal and it is worshipped as a form of goddess and the symbol of purity. The area around the Thamel are packed with guest houses, restaurants, shops, bookstores, clothing stores and many more.

Nearby Thamel there is Jhochhen Tolewhich is also known as the Freak Street made popular by the hippies of the 1960s and 1970s. Just a little bit further there is Ason bazaar with a lot of shops there one can find both traditional and modern goods and services. Healthcare in Nepal is found to be most developed; the city and the surrounding valley is home to some of the best hospitals and clinic in the country. One can also find the traditional way of healing inside the valley. Numerous places offer healing through the sound, sense and plant based medicines.

Also, tourists get plenty of opportunity of hiking around Kathmandu like Shivapuri Hiking, Chandragiri Hiking, Changunarayan Hiking, Kakani Hiking, Nagarkot Hiking, Namobuddha Hiking and many more.
